Boho
The term Bohemian was first used in the English language in the 19th century to describe the untraditional lifestyles of various groups of people including artists, actors, writers and musicians.
These days it is loosely used to describe people who don't want to 'follow the crowd'.
These people may be searching for that look or style that is personal to them by mixing and matching a range of clothes and accessories and being very aware of what materials are used in producing these.
Bohemianism had its hay-day in the 1920's and 1930's and saw a resurge in popularity in the 1960's with the 'hippy' movement.
Fashions come and go but Boho never seems to fade. It simply evolves as people are as individual as their styles.
Today, much concern is expressed towards environmental damage caused by industry and product mass production.
We hope we can make a difference by supplying you with an exciting range of beautiful products which are all made from naturally occuring materials and hand crafted to an excellent standard.
Fairtrade
Fairtrade products are produced around the principle that workers in developing countries are paid a fair price for their produce.
This promotes sustainability in that country and helps the local producers to help themselves. Buying Fairtrade products gives us all the power to make a difference to peoples lives.
As well as a fair price, the principle of Fairtrade also includes encouraging buyers to take a keen interest in the welfare and working conditions of the fairtrader. This is all about a common respect between all parties involved from the producer through to the end customer.
The appearence of Fairtrade products is quite different than that of mass produced items. Fairtrade products really are unique. By the nature of using naturally occuring materials and the fine art of hand carving, the item you have purchased can never be truly copied. Not only are these items unique but when you wear a Fairtrade product you really do get a feel of the time and effort which has gone into making your new purchase.
